Herald letter leads to action
I REFER to my letter in The Herald of May 1, "Bridge not fixed six months after floods", and wish to thank your paper for placing the letter and picture.
Eye-gouging murder accused denied bail
CONFESSED gang member accused of gouging out the eyes of a Kleinskool man in March has been refused bail in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court.
Many inequalities remain in place
Any system that is by law based on discrimination against a person is inhumane. Not only did apartheid discriminate against blacks, but it also imprisoned, tortured and in the extreme executed those who challenged the apartheid state.
Death and destruction
LARGE parts of the rain- battered Eastern Cape were cut off at the weekend as raging waters, stoked by the unrelenting downpours, washed away bridges and major roads collapsed.
