Having been a life long bedwetter it was the other way round for me. I actually asked for terry nappies as I realised that all my disposables were doing so much damage to the the evioroment. A decision I still stick by at 19 years of age.

dispossable diapers are the way to go...they are soft comfy and very obsorbant....and you throw them away....no need to wash or do laundry

I do get an allowance and also earn money from occasional baby sitting jobs so i could buy my own disposables, but i am afraid my parents will get mad.It is no fun being a teen and knowing in the back of my mind that i have to wear the cloth diapers and rubberpants to bed every night!

Hi Joy Lynn, you're in a real pickle. From what you've written, I would not go the route of buying disposables as you're parents likely recourse would be to cut your allowance.:-( I do think it was wrong for your mom to come in and put a diaper on you right in front of your friends. I get the feeling that your parents don't understand that the bedwetting is something that you can't help. Here's something I put together a while back that may help explain things and give you ideas on how you can approach this with your parents. http://www.topix.com/forum/health/bedwetting/... . I know it's an emotional issue right now, but try to set up a situation that will allow you to talk it over calmly. Don't aim for not wearing anything at all, but a compromise that you would be allowed to put your own diaper on. Ric is another young person on this forum who has CP. He also has trouble, but is allergic to something in the disposables so has to wear cloth diapers and because of the CP, can't pin the diapers himself. So what happened? His mom made ones up with velcro so that he can do it himself. The reality is that as long as you are living under your parents' roof, you'll have to live by their rules. Just try to strike a compromise with your parents. I don't think the real issue is wearing protection, but having your mom put it on you like a small child, especially when it's in front of friends. BTW, how did your friends handle it?

Papa Slice-Thanks so much for your input and wanting to help! I appreciate it.The issue has been put on hold for now as there are some other more important matters. My two friends just sat there and watched as mom powdered me,then pinned the cloth diapers on me,then pulled the rubberpants up my legs and over the diapers.I was somewhat embarrassed that they were watching, but they understood,I was taken aback when mom asked both of them if they each wanted to wear the diapers and rubberpants also so i wouldnt feel so out of place, but they said no.Any way we still had lots of fun even tho my rubberpants are adult size and fit me blousy and crinkle when i move around and walk.they both could hear them crinkling.

Hey joylynn I'm shocked that ur mum asked them that :O I would have died of embaressment or done something terrible I wouldn't have been proud of to myself but that's another issue. I have had a friend who wore drynites at a sleepover with me and Tracey but that's only cos she didn't want us to feel alone with our problem and thought it might help us feel better :). We didn't mind but it was only drynites and my mum didn't get involved or anything. It might not b a gd idea to buy them yourself without their permission but u could ask if u would be allowed to if u paid for it.

Emily 9865-mom insists on putting my diaper and rubberpants on me at bedtime! She says it her 'motherly' duty and she wants to make sure they are on right.Me and a friend went to wal-mart yesterday and i did checkout the goodnites some of the others they have there and i feel they will work for me but i am afraid to buy some as my parents might get mad! I was thinking about buying a small quantity package and then hiding them in my room, then after i am in bed, taking off my rubberpants and diaper and putting on the goodnites.in the morning i would have to put the diaper and rubberpants back on and hide the wet goodnites and mom would wonder why my diaper was dry!.So i dont know what to try.

Hi Emily, I'm not in the least bit shocked by JoyLynn's post. If you look at the location of her ISP's server (underneath her name), you will see that it is Minneapolis, MN. If you look back through old posts, you will see that there are dozens of posts (with a variety of posters names) from Minneapolis, MN or St. Paul, MN (which are next door to each other), and all with the same theme, i.e. being made to wear cloth diapers with plastic/rubber pants, either by a parent or in some cases by their Catholic Church.

I would suggest that anyone here with a genuine wetting problem should ignore any posts from those locations that look as if they are from this same poster (whatever name they are using at the time). They are all from a fantasist.

Ugh :( I hate it when people do this. Thanks Richard for telling me. Particularly when they blame the Catholic Church for making them wear diapers cos I'm a Roman Catholic and I'm upset that people associate my religion with perverse practices and not any other church :/. Some people would believe it and it gives Catholics a bad name

My bedwetting is due to weakend bladder muscles resulting fro some emotional issues i had and now that i have moved on past them,i hopefully can move on to end my bedwetting.my parents are still adamant and told me i have to wear the cloth diapers and rubberpants untill my wetting stops.
. Your not alone I have to wear them too due to weak bladder muscles, my mom makes me wear them in the car and if we go out the nurse has diapers for me at school and what not too (I'm 15) I've wet since about a year ago... I mostly wear cloth diapers but ill occasionally wear disposable diapers... It sucks at sleepovers cuz I have to hide the entire time! And my friends know but I'm still embarrassed :/

<quoted text>say disposable diapers would be better when you have your period.try Depend for woman
Try Underjams they fit teen girls and boys well they are very discreet make no crinkly noise and fit perfectly under underwear/panties. Underjams hold much more than cloth diapers and plastic pants. If you have to sneak out and spend your money on Underjams it is worth it. Most nighttime diapers are crinkly and rough and noticable. I use diapers at night and I have tried about every kind of diaper out there but Underjams are the BeST!!! use underjams.

Exactly. I'm always skeptical of any post on here that lists the location as from Minneapolis or St. Paul. Sorry but I'm amazed whoever is making this stuff up hasn't given up by now.

Why is it that parents feel that their bedwetting teen daughters are like babies and make them wear cloth diapers and plastic pants to bed every night? i am 16 and started wetting the bed last year and my parents right away put me into "cloth diapers and rubberpants" as they call them.i wasnt given a choice in the matter! the diapers are regular baby cloth diapers and pinned on me with diaper pins and then i have to wear the adult size rubber pants over them that fit me baggy and crinkle when i walk! i hate wearing them, but they wont buy me anything else.i have talked to other bedwetting teen girls and they also are made to wear the cloth diapers and''rubberpants'to bed every night.can any one tell me why this is?
Because disposable diapers are very costly.
