Thabo Mbeki wanted Arms shipped to Zimbabwe

As far as I am concerned Mbeki is no better than
Mugabe they are peas in a pod, each covering eachothers backs. Mbeki could have done a lot more to assist with the post election violence
and about the delay in the election results. He
backs Mugabe there is no doubt about that - very
sad!! I used to think he was a great President
and SA was lucky, but now I think he is weak and
has no drive. He uses "quiet diplomacy" as an
excuse, when he says quiet he means quiet - nothing!!!!

Of course Mbeki wanted the arms to go to Zimbabwe. What do you think he and Mugabe discussed during their last meeting, when they were holding hands like some love struck school girls.
They weren't discussing the weather.

Mbeki gave his assurance to Mugabe that he will allow the arms shipment to cross over South African territory. What he did not count on, was the fact that there is a lot of people in the ANC that wants him gone, one of whom spilt the beans to the media in return for a nice incentive bonus.

Let them take the weapons to zimbabwe.......we want them to whipe each other out don't we?

Let them finish each other off.
