Conway boy wins talent contest

“People already are so excited for him. They're so proud of him.”

Dalton Watts of Conway said Wednesday afternoon he'll begin preparing for a family Caribbean vacation next month by practicing his singing.

His mother, Karen Watts, an eighth-grade teacher at Whittemore Park Middle School in Conway, said she received an e-mail earlier in the day from a Kidz Bop official that he was named one of four winners in a national talent search by the New York-based family entertainment Web site.

Dalton, 12, had entered his video of singing Billy Joel's 'Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)' in a video contest at www.kidzbop.com. Voting for any of the 15 semifinalists ended Sunday. Read more
