Kathy Brown brings folk music to Suriname
“All those Western classical composers used their folk melodies as material for their composition and their music is known worldwide and is of high value. Your [Caribbean] repertoire is the same, but is based on folk music of the Caribbean”
Pianist Dr Kathy Brown flew to the Suriname on Wednesday for two performances in the capital Paramaribo tomorrow. via Jamaica Observer
