Rwandan refugees pushed to return to a home they consider unsafe

Full story: Christian Science Monitor

At the Nakivale refugee camp, a vast stretch of rolling, fertile land in southwest Uganda, some 8,000 Rwandan refugees were recently given a deadline. Claiming that Rwanda, 15 years after the 1994 genocide, is now safe for everyone, the United Nations and the governments of Uganda and Rwanda have encouraged all 17,000 to 18,000 refugees in Uganda to go home before July 31. "We have agreed that the time is right," says Stefano Severe, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) representative in Uganda. "We have to bring this process to a close."

We find some injustice in forcing peaple to return in Rwanda by force, it is totally unfair when people see just the absence of war as peace, there so many reason that we rwanans we can live in our country. In Rwanda there is no fairness, equity, or freedom of expression, but the worst of them all is the conctration of liberlty, wealth and rights that are only reserved to the Tutsi minority.

Please, there is unfairness in thinking that where there war, that's where people are allowed to flee, every one has to understand that the freedom of speech, equal rights are also a fundemental value each citizen should wish to have in his/her own country.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Libra

Remember that life isn't all fun and games: handle your responsibilities first, then plan how to have a good time. Your impulses, once you yield to them, will have a tendency to lead you further and further from where you need to be. Make sure you lock the door behind you before disappearing; when you're in this kind of mischievous mood, you probably won't want anyone else to know where you're going.
