Qatar rejects accusation it sent weapons to Libya

Qatar has denied an accusation by Libyan Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thinni that it sent three military aircraft loaded with weapons to a Tripoli airport controlled by an armed opposition group. In a statement to Qatar's news agency , Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi described the allegation as misleading and unfounded.

Turkey could accept Muslim Brotherhood leaders

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says Turkey could take in leaders of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood group who have been asked to leave Qatar. The leaders had sought refuge in Qatar following the ouster of Egypt's Islamist President Mohammed Morsi and the crackdown on his supporters.

Qatarisation unit of QU to train nationals

DOHA: Qatar University has set up a dedicated Qatarisation unit as part of its Human Resources Department to train and prepare nationals for top positions within the university, its president Dr Sheikha Abdullah Al Misnad has said. "We are very proud of these efforts which were recognised with the Qatarisation Partnership Award by Qatar Petroleum this year", Al Misnad said in her Annual Convocation address on Sunday marking the beginning of the new academic year at the university.

Fiji Thanks Qatar For Efforts In Peacekeepers' Release

The Fijian government said Monday it is grateful to the Qatari government for its efforts in the release of 45 Fijian peacekeepers detained by al-Nusra Front militants in Syria, Xinhua news agency reported. Fiji's Foreign Affairs Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, who met Qatari counterpart Khalid bin Mohammed al Attiyah in Doha last week, said Khalid had vowed to "spare no efforts in making sure the soldiers are released safely," said a statement from Fiji's Ministry of Information.

Workers to be screened for hepatitis at home
