But apparently, despite this violation of the anti-dummy law, the Commission on Elections (Comelec), aware that Smartmatic has virtually 90 percent share in the P7.3-billion poll automation project it will be implementing, approved the partnership.

If the smartmatic has 90% its means they broke the law of the land. But, Of course they still get away with it because they're the dummy of Mr. & Mrs. Pidal. So what else is new to this corrupt bogus regime of Gloria kawatan. This can be expected!

Si Sen. Manny Villar ang lumabas na ‘most trusted public official’ sa nationwide survey ng Social Weather Stations (SWS) sa kanyang nakuhang 73%(Much Trust), kumpara sa 11%(Little Trust) na nagtiwala sa kanyang kakayahan.

Ang survey ay ginanap sa pagitan ng Abril 16-Mayo 6, 2009.

Ang SWS survey sa 7,000 mga Pinoy nationwide ay nagpapakita na si Villar ay patuloy na umaani ng pagtitiwala at kumpiyansa ng publiko sa kabila ng mga akusasyon sa kanya ng ilan niyang kasamahan na umano’y sangkot siya sa C-5 double insertion controversy.

Ang iba pang public officials na kasama sa survey ay sina: Sens. Mar Roxas na nakakuha ng (65%), Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero (64%), Loren Legarda (64%) Vice Pres. Noli De Castro (53%), Panfilo Lacson (46%) at dating Pres. Joseph Estrada (44%).

Samantala, si Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile ay nakakuha ng negatibong 15% habang si House Speaker Prospero Nograles ay -35% net trust ratings. Pinakamababang ratings na nakamit ng Senate President at Speaker of the House.

Reuters, the international news agency, citing reports of experts of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) reported that the Philippine Department of Agriculture (DA)/NFA paid $550 metric tons of rice bought from Vietnam at a time when rice prices were at $380 MT or a 45 percent overprice, or $170 per MT. Multiplied by 1.5 MT, that’s a cool $371 million overprice bigger than the $190 million overprice on the $329-million ZTE-NBN deal.

For the last nine years, the Philippines has been the biggest importer of rice, giving rise to consistent charges that there’s a big tongpats or overprice or rice importation contracts.

Comelec to accept Erap’s CoC

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday gave the assurance that the poll body will accept former President Joseph Estrada’s certificate of candidacy (CoC) despite legal questions surrounding his probable run for the presidency in 2010.

Security officials had earlier said the bombing of the Office of the Ombudsman and the planting of an explosive device at the Agriculture department – both in Quezon City – were attempts to sow fear and disrupt President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s State of the Nation Address on July 27.

Earlier reports also said that a “coup attempt" – dubbed as Oplan August Moon – is scheduled to be put in place and is aimed at extending Mrs. Arroyo’s term beyond 2010 by placing in key posts military and police officials close to her.
