Call to stop Nepal's animal killing fair

Full story: The Peninsula

rather than attacking indigenous with holier-than-thou sneering, how about stopping animal killing in the corporate slaughter houses which are bigger than this event by orders of magnitude? this is hypocrisy at max. more than 500,000 animals and birds are killed in corporate slaughter houses of the western world EVERY DAY.

I agree with you apsal. Let the International Animal Rights agencies start their campaign from their own backyard. Or even better - we would be more than happy to 'export' Nepali campaigners to the west to stop the corporate slaughter. The message is - stop interfering with our culture and trying to force 'your' opinion to us in the name of 'rights.'

Send for Richard Gere! He knows all about keeping animals warm and safe...

Seriously. The culturally insensitive remarks made by Bridget Bardot and other celebrities prove what racists they really are. Their hate-speech against a religious custom should not be allowed.

Our slaughterhouses are horrible...but at least we use them for food, clothing, etc. It's the natural pecking order. Animals eat animals. These people of Nepal are doing this for some stupid religious belief that their prayers will be answered and they are not allowed to eat them. They just lay there for weeks 'till they rot. Time to move into the 21st century and stop this religious garbage. Bunch of backwards morons.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Gemini

Mercury will backtrack through your finances over the next few weeks, which isn't a very seasonal thought if you're already well aware that you've overspent this month. Be prepared to do some juggling or to seek expert advice if you're worried about how you're going to cope. You may be kept busy handling inheritance, tax or insurance matters, preparing investment analysis, and allocating funds for the repayment or collection of debts.
