Nouakchott - A group of youths shot dead an American man on Tuesday in the centre of the Mauritanian capital Nouakchott, a police source said.

To me this outrageous act would never have happened if the coup hadn't happened, the growing pains of democracy must occur for a nation to succeed, how will the people ever be able to discern in the future if the right is robbed from them every time they turn around, the military branch should be patient.
