yes, the picnic is over, but the same old commies are in power throughout the eastern bloc, milking the system, sometimes bringing it to its knees, see magayrsko, ukrainka...
are we in need of another revolution ?
slowly, but surely western investors are redestributing these countries, see tesco, kaufland stores, even buying agri lands for farming.
are we in for a surprise within 10-15 years ?

THAT'S BECAUSE I AM A DUMB SLOW-BRAINED SLOW-VAK!

APES ARE A HIGHER FORM OF LIFE THEN US SLOW-VAKS
My Slowvak mom told me that having sex with apes was good for us Slowvaks but maybe not for the apes.

I should mainly agree with pesky.
At the sam time I brought 2 sentences from the original atricle:
"In 1989, Hungarians ate in a restaurant on average once a week. And they went to the cinema regularly. "

One of the two sentences is not true. As regardig the cinema, this is I guess also common everywhere, because of the DVD players.

The commies made Hungary a bit unstable, because a lot of disappointed people are seeking the truth, where it was forbidden before, on the far right side. And the far right politicians were far away from the power, therefore they are not involved in the scandals, and are clean, at least from this point of view. For an everyday person, to whom it is a big effort to make ends meet, this is a big point. And the same time he/she sees in the TV that how much money has been paid for the socialist controlled Budapest Transport Company for the farewell compensation.

bacsi,
corruption, briberies are common in these countries, in some more, in some less, but itīs here !
i am more concerned about foreigners moving in, buying agri lands, with the intent to grow vegetables...etc. in germany 1 square meter of soil cost 10 times the price of it here.
i do not want some knackwurst to sell me vegetables at an exuberant price 10 years down the road.

Pesky,

corruption is everywhere, but it is important, in which extent. The small ones are invisble, btu eg. what is now in Hungary id alredy judgeable, since severeal politicians (commies) are already arrested.

The privatisation of the agriland has been done in Hungary on a very stupid way, just after the system chage. The resulted small pieces of fields are no good for the contemporary agricultural work, the machines needs bigger fields. So as the result there are a lot of agricutural area are rented by austrian farmers.

i donīt know about you bacsi, but i certainly do not want to see agri areas in foreign hands.
as we all know, food is an essential commodity for any country, you give it to foreign ownership, then you are doomed, i feel.
sooner or later prices are up and they squeeze your nuts pretty tight.
we need to be much more stricter around here, tesco for example of full of foreign products, i hardly see any slovak ones, our co-operatives are closed and i am forced to buy some knackwurst around here.
iīd say, enough !

No I did not state the opposite, I fully agree!
Just I personally found better the Czech-slovak (it started together as I remember) way of privatisation, where the co-operatives stayed together, thus allowing the modern way of the agriculture.
It is a pity now hearing that they closed. Fortunately in Hungary you can buy remarkable amount of hungarian food, and they also sell hungarian product, sometimes under a foreign brand. About tesco I don't know because I'm rarely there, but the others birdy tesco (auchan), the lidl, aldi, especially spar sells hungarian food. Since we have hungarian owned chains also, I'm also hesitating, what is better: to buy a hungarian food in say aldi, or to buy a foreign joghurt in the store of a hungarian chain...

speaking about dairy products, we in slovakia had many of these products, excellent qualities, but lately we are fed with some low quality, outright inferior products from germany, even polaks are muscling in with their junks.
these days, people look for prices only and none of them care to buy slovak products only.

It is the same here. I can allow myself to buy hungarian even if it is little more expensive, but many people cannot do this.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Sagittarius

It's difficult to keep your mind on what you're doing today because it keeps wandering off in all directions. There won't be much you can do about this except to be aware of it, and preferably to postpone doing anything very complicated or important until you're less distracted and absent-minded. Unfortunately, you won't get very far with it at the moment.
