The World Will Be Able to Observe Honduran Elections Online

On November 29 the election process will be shown online for the entire world to see. Hondurasvota2009.com is where you can go online to see the voting process including scrutiny of ballots and counting of votes. Suspicious acts should be reported to the Supreme Elections Tribunal. The idea is to bulletproof the elections from fraud. All reports can be made anonomously. I encourage everyone to pass the website along and on November 29 go online and watch the process for yourself and see Democracy in action. Help Honduras bring a close to the crisis.

Tamayo Now in Custody of Salvadoran Embassy

the priest that was involved in the controversy and hid in the Brazilian embassy with Zelaya has been turned over to Salvadoran diplomats and his citizenship has been revoked. La Prensa and El Heraldo report that the Salvadoran embassy has said he will be returned to El Salvador on Wednesday. He lived in Honduras since the Salvadoran conflict and was also involved in the Nicaraguan conflict..he has an akin for getting himself in messes that priests frankly donīt belong in and always on the side of the socialists. He was removed from his priesthood in the church in Salama by the Vatican earlier this year. What Tamayo doesnīt realize is how lucky he is to be alive..in the 80s the Honduran special forces had an order to kill him and the person assigned with the task could not find it in himself to kill a priest. That is inside information I have from the person that was ordered to kill him..a good friend of my husband from the military days.

The big loser in the Honduras political crisis? The economy.

Doris Midence, a snack bar employee at La Tigra National Park outside the Honduran capital, Tegucigalpa, has the empty gaze of someone with too much time on her hands.

"Customers are down by half," she says, reorganizing gum and candy bars. "Between curfews and protests, people are not leaving their homes."

The Honduran political crisis - at four months and counting, after ousted President Manuel Zelaya was arrested and deposed by the military June 28 - could finally be coming to an end. Both sides have signed a deal that calls on Congress to decide whether Mr. Zelaya gets to return to office. But even if the curfews are being lifted, the economic ramifications of Latin America's worst crisis for decades could endure much longer.
