I'm sorry if I was a bit harsh, but it gets a bit much when you (as a white) gets blames for every single fawk up that the blacks make.

Everything is always our fault. most whites just want to live their lives. Go to school, go to varcity, go to work, EVERYDAY, work hard/smart, retire and die.

I had nothing when apartheid ended, as I was a poor student. Since then I have been blessed materially, but to hear everyday that i stole what I worked hard to accumulate is riddiculous.

Since aparheid ended the whites have had a much harder road to travel to sucsess., compared to the blacks.

Our forefathers followed a different path compared to the forefathers of the Australians and the USA.

Instead of with the gun and exterminatin on their minds they went into the country with the bible.

It's funny how when plain thruths are discussed, especially when it reveals unsightly historical facts it riles people up. I have no idea of exactly what knowlege you have of South Africa, but I live here, was born here, my father, grandfather, great grandfather all South African. I have a pretty good knowlege of MY country, and in comparison with countries like Australia and the US it is plain to see how the western settlers adopted different approaches. In the US and in Oz the policy was to decimate local/native people until their numbers were negligable, in SA the policy was one of segregation (Afrikaaner reaction to Brittish monopoly). 2 distincly different approaches, and today we have 2 distincly different situations prevailing in the respective countries. Which would you choose?

I don't disagree with you, we live today within situations created by forefathers. We are all products of our circumstances, no matter what colour we are. If you refer to some of my earlier posting you will see you echo my own sentiments, in that WE ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE for our actions, for creating our future or for perpetuating a negative stereotype. I believe we need to lift our minds and hearts as individuals to find solutions that work (this is key), if we all do this then collectively as a nation we will move forward in every way imaginable.

I am supportive of positive 'reality' based initiatives/stratagies. A problem that SA suffers from though, is a government whose policies are ineffectual, inadequate and staid. Living in a country governed by a single political party who lacks political will to tackle the major issues (crime, unemployment, infrastructural neglect) is more than just a mite frustration to say the least. It puts people on the edge, it generates tension... I'm sure you can understand then how this scenario works completely against a positive future for all South Africans.

Wow, I don't don't know where you get your info from. But the white's never resorted to rape and murder. I am not talking about racial wars. Blacks murder and rape each other in their own comunities. Its not a problem faced only by whites. After the Anglo boer war the white Afrikaner was not even allowed to sudy in his own lanuage, they were suppressed and very poor, but never resorted to murder and rape.
