French Helped Chad's Army

French forces transported munitions from Libya and other countries to Chad's army during a rebellion earlier this month, a Defense Ministry spokesman said Thursday.

Laurent Teissiere said France 'helped Chad receive munitions coming from other countries' to Chadian government forces.

France, which has troops in Chad and a military agreement with the central African country, has said it provided Chadian President Idriss Deby with logistical and intelligence support when rebels advanced on the capital, N'Djamena, Feb. 2-3. Read more
