In Canada you don't have the right to bear arms it pretty simple. Even if they don't have to register they will still need a permit.

All humans have the God given right to keep & bear arms for their self defense. In Canada, as in other controlled countries, the fascist rulers deny this right to the people.

I won't go to Canada anyhow. This side of the border works for me even tho New York is screwed up it's still not Canada. I see Fort Erie every day on the way to work and have NO desire to enter your country. Last time I went across the border I was given such a ration of crap for my toolbox that I refuse to cross again.

The registration of handguns is mandatory, and at this point so is long guns.

It is not an infringement on any Canadians rights.
It was not admin correctly costing way more that it should have.

It is a device that allows for possible evidence to be used during a crime, if the gun is involved in it.

I realise through my brother that it is a pain in the ass, because he has more long than short guns.
Beside that problem there really is no problem with registration, so said my brother.

And none of the rules/laws/regulations will stop criminals from doing what they do. It is an infringement on law abiding citizens only. It is legal BS.

If you think having or not having a regulation will stop crime cold then that positive outlook may land a job at Disney!
What regulations do is provide more facts to the cops in case that gun was used in a crime.
End of story...no boogie man here.

If Long Gun Registry Is So Dumb, Why Do Police Like It?
Most Canadians want it, too. So why are opposition members helping Tories kill it?

"So why are opposition members helping Tories kill it?"

Most likely because they have a brain and understand it is worthless to combat crime.

Strange the RCMP don't think that's the case, I'd say they were the experts and the politicans are just listening to lobbyists.

That's the problem; you're listening to "experts", use YOUR HEAD. Do you believe that a criminal is going t "register" his (her) gun? If the firearm is question is stolen all the registry can do is return it to it's rightful owner. Gun registries are schemes foisted on the foolish by hack politicians claiming that they will prevent and or solve crimes. Tell me, how can registering a firearm prevent it's criminal misuse?

Of the 3 million + inquiries into the gun registry by various Cdn police forces, only 2% ever involved long guns!!!

So the law abiding rural Cdn who enjoys hunting, the farmer etc..paid money to register their rifles over the years because of a bunch of gun shooting drive by black an immigrant gangs in placs like Vancouver and Toronto.

Handguns are one thing....hunting rifles are another.

Most Cdn's??....who holds the most parliamnetary seats in Canada?...Obviously the urban areas. These people, the polls that are done etc...do not speak for the other part of Canada.

Sadly, because of the way it works, we'll also have a Muktar Ali Mustafa someday as PM.

"Handguns are one thing....hunting rifles are another."

That is the kind of thinking that gets firearms owners in trouble. I know Canada has no Second Amendment but even you have a Natural RIGHT to self preservation and defense. You should never forfeit that RIGHT for the shallow promises of hack politicians who will promise you anything and deliver nothing.

2% is still over 60,000 inquiries into long guns and the police seem to think they need the information!

I have never been against strict controls on handguns. But on hunting rifles, it is stupid to make rural Cdns pay because of the behavior of some gun toting dressed like hip hop sh*t blacks on our urban streets.

How does registering my hunting rifle protect anyone on a street in Toronto? Does registering my hunting rifle protect someone like Jane Creba who lost her life on a Toronto street?

There have been hunting rifles with thousands of Cdn families for generations. Seems that "some people" have spoiled that privelege.

Police are antigun. Cops benefit the most from gun control laws. Police chiefs are some of the most antigun people on the planet.

U.S. cops get to carry concealed after they retire. Most of them want the fewest number of people carrying guns. It gives them the advantage just like it gives govt the advantage.

Only a fool, politician, cop, and criminal wants gun control laws. Only a fool gives up power of any kind.

Polls are polls, different ones done and many times off some percentages points.

If you google, or check the recent HarrisDecima polls....majority percentages in all provinces want the long gun registry scrapped....except for Quebec where it is the opposite and Ontario where it is almost equally divided.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Scorpio

Be careful how you handle a certain someone today because their mood is little short of incendiary. They'll jump down your throat if you dare to disagree with them, and then accuse you of being a wimp if you decide that it would be better to agree with everything they say. You can't win! If they really get on your wick, you'll have to give them a piece of your mind, even if it is supposed to be the season of goodwill to all men. Huh!
