Military officials in Afghanistan said that detainees in Canadian custody are being offered the H1N1 shot - a decision the federal health minister called "outrageous" Tuesday and that prompted a terse statement from the Department of National Defence.

Health officials are urging Canadians to wait to receive their H1N1 vaccination to allow priority groups to be inoculated first.
