unfortunately, seems that most of those Brazilian artists only can do something "new" or "exciting" if they are inspired to milk - again again and again- the familiar themes of children of the slums, drugs and violence galore etc.while the live in Ipanema. It would be truly exciting if the violence galore that caractherizes most Brazilian in general would get a script that faces the truth once and for all: there is nothing more violent that a fake smile and a condescendent, patronizing attitude to those who are below you or are darker than you...Everyone would like to be white in Brazil. I would love to see a Brazilian movie facing head on such a psychic social war, that hypocritical conditioning that has created such a social, economic and dengue fever kind of chaos ( for years the elite and they puppet politicians looked the other way while plain people were getting sick and dying, but now dengue fever is out of control: just wait until the deadly mosquitoes hit the well to do as well...It is not a surprise that those pseudo-intellectuals that are the scourge of Brazil are so in love with Freud ( sigh): the vested interests of the Brazilian well to do ( and most of the artists as well) need Freud to perpetuate their power. A movie about such a neurotic conditioning in the land of dengue fever woould be very dangerous. Indeed. Otherwise, give me a break of
Braziliana movies, please.

"Everyone would like to be white in Brazil'

What kind of statement is that? Where did you get this idea from? From the movie?

Most Brazilian are very happy for having a darker skin and they even go to the beaches to get even darker.
