Rudd is ment to be working for the best interest of Australians and letting more migrants in is not the way to go! I’m sick of this we can’t accept everyone. Rudd has turned out to be a crook instead of our representative and spends more time in other countries then his own. It seems we are working for Rudd not Rudd working for us!

Nobody says that they have granted asylum to these people. In the given situation, at last your pathetic govt has come to it's senses.

The people are in despair for their future, and their asylum claims must be taken seriously.

Anyway I can't understand why they want to go to Australia, when the Australians clearly don't deserve any of them.

You are my problem! Why don’t they wanna migrate to Indonesia? HA? What’s wrong with that country? Instead you have to blackmail us to take you ppl in! WE CANT TAKE YOU ALL! They travel so far and pay so much and why can’t they apply for asylum through the proper channels? Not jump on a boat have expect ppl to accept you. At least N.Z has the guts to say no.

The socalled blackmail situation would have never come about, if the Australians followed normal human descency and allowed them to land.

They could have followed socalled proper channels. But what are proper channels? If they are infact real refugees, then they wouldn't go to Colombo to get into an aeroplane. Some of them are so brainwashed that they are infact really scared of the the army. Even Sinhala people are sometimes scared of the army, when they march around with their weapons. There are small children in the boat and they need to land soon. So you have to see the human side of this.

They deserve to get their claims processed, and that is the only thing your govt has promised them.

When you are all worked up about Tamils, why don't you think about yourself? Norway took many thousands of refugees from the former Yugoslavia prior to the Nato bombing, on the agreement that they will move back, once there is peace. It was really hard to get them off Norway afterwards, and still most of them are here. So why are you with your hometown in Zagreb, Croatia so concerned?

If all Tamils moved out of Australia, the pathetic country will fall apart. Just so that you know it. Everybody needs to be treated with respect, and Australia as a nation has not shown any respect for these people. Most of them are most probably not real refugees and can live in Sri Lanka. But all that has to be processed properly, not in this disrespectfull manner.

That’s great for Norway taking refuges but Australia has its own problems with Bad public transport and even worst hospital system and I’m not sorry for saying that I think my tax payer money should be spent on fixing these problems and helping the indigenous citizens of our own country before helping other.! Who says their asylum claims are not being taken seriously? What more could you possibly want from Australia, or any nation? These people are being offered financial, educational and housing assistance - no wonder they all want to come here.

By the way, there is a chronic housing shortage in Australia at the moment, and house prices have as a result become out of reach of most Australians and rental accommodation is also very hard to come by, so this offer of housing assistance is even more generous than what is being offered to many Australians.

Your first point contradicts itself. They deserve to get their claims processed even though most of them might be able to live in Sri Lanka? What do you think, Australia has an endless supply of money to cater for these people while their nonsense claims are being processed?

I'm not going to plead the case of the boat people because I don't know if they are Sinhalese or what.

Even if they are Tamil, I take the view that they should never have been forced to flee their motherland in the first place, if that is what happened to them.

However, you are in the UK right now, are you not? That means you must be deriving a benefit from the public services funded by myself and other UK taxpayers. I don't begrudge you that benefit, but it is a benefit nevertheless.

2. He is not sure whether he is gay or straight

I am not pleading their case but may it be Tamils,Sinhalese or Muslims if the wanted out of Sri Lanka it is for a reason. That country is Paupa New Guinea lawless and anarchy prevails. There are over 150,000 people(this is the government numbers that means much more are really in th camps)are in concentration camps. The President is bent on extending the executive presidency , the man and his family control everything. If you notice most of the people(Sri Lankans) who want these people sent back to Sri Lanka themselves live in foreign lands. I just hope the Australian government weeds out the bad elements and allows the innocents to stay, there are little kids on that boat.
