The G-8 Summit in the Italian city L'Aquila city adopted a joint statement by the presidents of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.

The Committee Assignment in the U.S Senate approved the bill of law on the allocation of foreign aid for fiscal-2010 by getting 29 votes against 1, Armenian media said. The bill proposes $30 million for Armenia, or $18 million less than in fiscal-2008. The bill also proposes the allocation of $22 million to Azerbaijan.

On July 6 Armenia's Justice Minister Gevorg Danielian received a French delegation headed by the Human Rights Defender, Jean-Paul Delevoye.

The Yerevan conference discusses consequences of the financial crisis for Armenia. Proposals will be put forward at the end of the conference to reduce consequences of the crisis for the country, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) released.

There is no document which confirms that the events of 1915 were genocide, Turkish Prime Minister Rajab Tayyip Erdogan said in an interview with the Italian newspaper "Corriere della Sera", said CNN Turk reported.

Azerbaijani continues to work over the resolution on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement which the country has submitted to the United Nations Organization, Azerbaijani Permanent Representative to UN Agshin Mehdiyev told journalists at the international conference on the 90th anniversary of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on July 8.

The demographics of Armenia once showed the Azeris as the majority in the country with a ratio of roughly 80 percent Azeri and 20 percent Armenian.

In the same year as the Treaty of Turkmenchay was adopted (1828), the Armenian Oblast was created. Between 1828 to 1840 the Armenian Oblast was established by the Russian Empire to further accelerate the settlement of Christian Armenians into Azerbaijani Khanates.

The following years massive persecution, massacres and deportations of Azerbaijanis followed.

By 1832 only half of the total population of the Erivan Khanate remained Azerbaijani. Only 5 years after the creation of the Armenian Oblast.
