Petraeus: Tough Fight Ahead In Afghanistan

What if the "enemy" decides to fight now? Eight years and the worst is yet to come?

Sure the battle for Afghanistan will be tough, but in the meantime look how much the US has done for the stability of nuclear armed Pakistan.

It only shown US has not learned any lesson from history.

- They had not learned from Britain's efforts to control Afghanistan for more than 100 years when they were in India.

- They did not learn any thing from Russians debacle to control Afghanistan during 1979-1989

The road to Kabul is very easy; to stay back and come out is equally difficult.

May be US want to learn the hard way.

- US did not learn any thing from Vietnam or Iraq war either.

The only point in their favor is that they have duped their allies also into coming to a one way ticket to Afghanistan.

In this way the casualties would be shared and each party will blame other for Debacle.

The numbers of US casualties from Afghanistan are on the rise daily...

What they saved from Iraq...they are sacrificing in Afghanistan.

For what cost? For what purpose?

They do not want to capture Osama? They are in no hurry to capture Mulla Omar?

They just want to wait till the resistance die out.. If they knew Afghan people, they should know that time factor would only unite them against foreign presence.

I hope their Military Leaders would have read Afghan History for past 1000 years before going there.

Poor Obama has to wash dirty linen left over by GWB the Great....Poor Chap, he would be blamed for a thing he did not start.

Totally Correct.....The USA has ZERO Chance of winning anything in the MIDEAST.

Thousands of military contractors are dominating and keeping the USA at war. This disease will eventually kill the USA.

US Defense Dept contractor lobbyists out number politicians in Washington DC.

They totally DOMINATE US foriegn policy and will keep the USA at war forever.

They each support each other, the common man in fully loaded to look for means of its survival and glow in the false feeling that he or she is free.

In fact I am an Indian working in Saudi Arabia. US has got itself involved in a totally unnecessary war In Afghanistan and in Iraq.

As you said, there a bunch of people who do not want peace. They want that US should always be involved in one conflict or the other.

If there is no real enemy, then they invent an enemy.

They have control of Media so whatever they say, Media propagates it and common folks come into its spell.

What is way out? Unless those people be removed from the public view.
