First of all, radioactive particles don't spew from a pipe like crow piss from a gutter, and secondly, "what the company called non-harmful traces of radioactive elements" is what the rest of us call an oxymoron.

Non-harmful? That's a pretty relative term. Considering tissue damage by radiation is probabilistic, it only takes one free radical to cause cancer. It is possible to get cancer from one second exposure to 2*10^-6 uCi/ml Cobalt-60 equivalent at 300m, but not probable. Likewise, it is possible to not get cancer from eating a truckload of radioactive waste, but not probable.

I am for nuclear power, I've spent years of my life providing it, but this plant needs to be shut down - two nuclear incidents in a week would be a red flag in the US... I guess they're used to waving only one color flag: white.

If it did, you'd have hundreds of Machinists' Mates taking over! A bored nuc is somewhat controllable, but a bored nuc with super powers is just NOT going to field-day.

Perhaps the term should be changed to non-harmful, since they are likely to get over it.
