Lille continued their fine start to the Ligue 1 season with an impressive 2-0 win against Nantes, who were made to pay for not making the most of their dominance in the first half. Second-half goals from Divock Origi and Marco Lopes earned Rene Girard's unbeaten side the spoils as they went top of the table with 11 points from five games after Bordeaux were beaten at Guingamp.

Andre-Pierre Gignac's first-minute goal sent Marseille on their way to a 3-1 win over Evian as Marcelo Bielsa's side registered their third consecutive Ligue 1 victory of the new campaign. Gignac got Marseille off to a perfect start at the Parc des Sports by opening the scoring before the Evian players had a touch of the ball - 20 seconds in to be precise - Giannelli Imbula then notched a second a minute before half-time and Florian Thauvin struck a third shortly after the hour mark.
