Only a few Danish immigrants make it to the elite of sport
FC Copenhagen striker Danny Amankwaa, a Dane of Ghanaian heritage, is one of the few non-Western immigrants listed on the elite Team Denmark According to Berlingske Research, only a few immigrants with non-Western background are among the 1,156 elite sportspeople who make up the prestigious Team Denmark, an organisation that co-operates with 28 sport federations to provide expert support and financing. Depending on how the figures are calculated , the sportpeople with a non-Western background account for just 1 or 2 percent of the elite team.

Danish teams get slice of fair play pie
Give me your cash! Five Danish clubs got an unexpected cash windfall thanks to the financial fair play ruling FC Copenhagen and Esbjerg are among the Danish football teams that will benefit financially from the UEFA fair play fine pool that other clubs have had to pay into. UEFA and the European Club Association have agreed that 178 million kroner, which nine clubs have been forced to cough up for non-compliance with the Financial Fair Play regulations last season, will trickle down to the other clubs that took part in the competition.
