Cut for the Xippi Phonorecords imprint, the album features eight songs penned by Alexandre and an interpretation of "They Say It's Wonderful," the Irving Berlin jazz standard taken from the musical "Annie Get Your Gun." Having previously recorded with the likes of Ralph Peterson, Winard Harper and Nonhlanhla Kheswa and having shared a stage with luminaries like Hank Jones, Randy Brecker, Wynton Marsalis and Dionne Warwick, Alexandre says "Collective Consciousness" came together organically over a span of years.
