    During the 2008 campaign for the Democratic nomination for president, Hillary Clinton famously ran a campaign ad claiming to be the one who was ready to "answer that phone call at three o'clock in the morning". What she based this on we're not sure, since her career up to that point had consisted of a position as a 27-year-old staffer with the committee investigating the Nixon Watergate scandal that she was fired from for dishonesty and questionable ethics, a job with an Arkansas law firm which she was given based on her political connections , and presumably her one term in the U.S. Senate where her legislative and national security accomplishments were nil.
