That gospel set, "Sabougla Voices," was followed this March by "I Don't Prefer No Blues," reportedly titled after a preacher's response upon learning he was recording an album of blues tunes instead of the spiritual music he'd been playing in church for decades. Not that Welch has forsaken gospel.
