    The other day, I wrote about how the critical reception to The Order 1886 signals a sea change in our expectations about video games . The game - competent, lavish, technically proficient and yet utterly uninspired - was the sort of thing that I could easily have seen getting an 80 on Metacritic maybe as recently as two years ago, but in today's landscape is getting utterly panned to the tune of a 65. The message is clear: just showing up with a functional shooter doesn't cut it anymore.
