The Hoosic River Watershed Association's Jerry Schoen and Dick Zona in 1989, replicated in 1999 by Dick Schlesinger and Ernie LeClaire, determined that the Adams flood chutes heated the river significantly, even more than Specialty Minerals' discharge of heated cooling water.
