    A canal boat which sank in the River Thames near to Hampton Court Palace on Friday evening was empty but believed to have been lived in. Emergency services were called to Hampton Court Bridge, Moseley , at around 5pm after witnesses said that a boat had sunk quickly.

Lock keeper Stephen Bolam sent in this photograph taken on Ash Island, East Molesey, of the creature gambling about in the choppy water on Sunday, February 8. According to an Environment Agency spokesman it probably got into the lock when a boat passed through.

    The death of a man, who was hit by a train at Hampton Wick railway station, is "not being treated as suspicious", according to British Transport Police Crews from the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service and British Transport Police were called just after 7.30am, on Tuesday morning, to reports that a person had been hit by a train near to the station.
