"We need you because we have not quite managed our affairs over these many years," Dr Lynvale Bloomfield, the MP for East Portland said as he offered prayers at the start of the Standing Finance Committee of the House of Representatives.

    The man charged in connection with the false claim that a plot had been crafted to kill Jamaica Labour Party leader Andrew Holness and the party's general secretary, Dr Horace Chang, has told investigators that he was contracted to tell the lies during a job-seeking trip to the party's Belmont Road headquarters. Maxie Robinson, who has been charged with creating public mischief, is now alleging that two JLP operatives offered him big rewards if he reported the fabricated murder plot to the police.

    "Who God bless, no man curse!" That is what a beaming Daryl Vaz, opposition parliamentarian, declared yesterday shortly after he was freed of breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act. The prosecution was forced to offer no further evidence in the case against him after the main witness, Sergeant Jubert Llewelyn, admitted during his Vaz, the member of parliament for West Portland, commenting further on his acquittal, said he now leaves the public to be judge of the matter, however, he is thankful for the support he received.
