Several officers arrived in the area and located the 24-year-old female victim who told police she was walking in the neighborhood when she was struck on the head by the suspect then sexually assaulted in the southeast area of the park, near the basketball courts.

    The Oregon Humane Society is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the brazen theft of a puppy from the Portland shelter on the afternoon of Tuesday, Sept. 16. The two-month-old puppy was stolen between 3pm and 6 pm, just one day after being offered for adoption at the OHS shelter located at 1067 NE Columbia Blvd. The puppy, a female Australian shepherd/pit bull mix, was stolen from a locked kennel located off the shelter lobby.
