Los Gatos had won 10-3 the first time the two teams met back in March, but Paly had evened the score with a 9-8 double overtime win over the Cats on April 24. And with the Vikings riding an eight-game winning streak into the championship game last Saturday, Paly figured to be a formidable foe.
