Dockett, a three time Pro Bowler, would be a solid addition to the 49ers defensive line, and if Justin Smith were to return for another season, would allow San Francisco to play multiple defensive alignments, using both the 3-4 and 4-3 lineups. Darnell Dockett missed the entire 2014 season after tearing his ACL and on February 27, was released by Arizona as part of a salary cap move.
