    Oct 23, 2014 | Burnt Orange Nation

In one glorious September evening after two devastating non-conference losses, the Texas Longhorns exorcised a number of demons in a 31-21 win over the Kansas State Wildcats last year. Not only did the win keep Texas from slipping to 1-3 and the pressure from mounting on former head coach Mack Brown, it was the first win by the Longhorns over the Wildcats since 2003, when Vince Young overcame what appeared to be a severely sprained ankle to score a late touchdown on fourth down and help Texas to a 24-20 victory.

    Oct 18, 2014 | Burnt Orange Nation

The schizophrenic Texas Longhorns football team continued with the big plays and big mistakes that have been part and parcel of this season, but one of the biggest came in the second quarter against the Iowa State Cyclones when sophomore former walk-on safety Dylan Haines returned an interception for a touchdown. With the game tied at 21-21 in the second quarter, Iowa State was driving, but Haines recognized the out route by stud Iowa State tight end E.J. Bibbs , jumped it, then used a cut inside against quarterback Sam Richardson and just enough juice at the end to find the end zone.
