    The winner at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in July and pole-sitter for this afternoon's Sylvania 300 was the fastest car again at yesterday's morning practice, but he missed a chance to sweep the entire weekend when he was edged in the final practice, coming in second to Jeff Gordon. Gordon got the top time after coming in eighth in the first practice yesterday, while Ryan Newman and Brian Vickers were 11th and 18th, respectively, in the afternoon.
