    Tuesday Mar 24 |

There are several words I could use to describe Tormenting the Innocent , the latest album by Athens-based thrash band Bio-Cancer , but there is one word that I keep coming back to with each new listen: sick. With shredding guitars which produce mad riffs and heavy chord arrangements, stampeding bass lines, awesome drumming that is both precise and chaotic, and scorching vocals that are like fiery razorblades puked at a microphone through a ravaged throat, the sonic mayhem that is Bio-Cancer's Tormenting the Innocent doesn't just prove that its five members are remarkably talented artists; it makes for one of the decidedly more impressive and memorable thrash releases in recent years.

    Monday Mar 23 |

As is the standard for a genre of music experiencing a particularly high spike of interest, in the expulsion of American '80s thrash metal, Californian thrashers Hirax never accumulated the adoration that they deserved in spite of forming in 1981 under a selection of monikers and releasing their debut album 'Raging Violence' in 1985 - well before other highly acclaimed thrash acts had the limelight shone in their faces. As a result, these Americans are headlining the Black Heart, rather than the Underworld where most '80s thrash troupes find themselves, frustrating considering this this is Hirax's first headlining jaunt to the British Isles.

    Feb 23, 2015 | MacInTouch

In the process of moving from Snow Leopard to Yosemite I stumbled upon a security change Apple seems to be quietly rolling out -- Messages and FaceTime now require an app-specific password when setting up a new device if the associated Apple ID has two-step verification enabled.
