As part of the event, Lisa Mensah, Under Secretary for USDA Rural Development, and Dr. William McGowan, USDA Rural Development State Director, presented Henderson officials with a $175,000 grant which would assist the town in replacing their failing water system. This is the first Maryland town to receive funds from the federal Emergency Community Water Assistance Grant Program.
