Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Trooper Johnathan Appling said in an emailed statement Wednesday night that all interstates, U.S. and state routes in Marion and Winston counties have been deemed impassable by state transportation officials.

    U.S. Marshals in Winston County Alabama, along with the Colbert County Sheriff's Office and the Colbert County DTF were able to capture a fugitive from justice Tuesday. Jeffery Lee Scott has been a fugitive from justice since 2004 and was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals.

    A cold rain is centered mainly east of I-65 this morning, and Marion and Winston counties in northwest Alabama are seeing some freezing rain. Marion, Winston and Cullman counties are still under a winter weather advisory through 9 a.m. Monday, but the National Weather Service canceled the winter weather advisory for Fayette, Lamar and Walker Counties at 3:20 a.m. The weather service also canceled the freezing rain advisory for Jefferson, Pickens, St. Clair and Tuscaloosa counties at 3:20 a.m. Monday.
