    Multiple criminal charges are expected to be sought against a 25-year-old Mattawan man who admitted he was under the influence of multiple drugs after crashing his car Saturday night, according to a press release issued by the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office. Deputies said they were called to the intersection of Whitewood Drive and 60th Avenue in Antwerp Township around 7:45 p.m. on a report of a car that had run off the roadway.

    A Mattawan man is facing multiple charges after he lost control of his 1997 Monte Carlo at 60th Avenue and Whitewood Drive around 7:30 Saturday evening, mowed down a stopsign at the intersection and wound up stuck in the front lawn of a home. Van Buren County deputies got a 9-1-1 call from a resident that the driver was tearing up the lawn trying to get the car unstuck.
