    A Rockingham County corrections officer has been indicted on charges alleging he spit at and threatened a county inmate who was in a jail cell. The Portsmouth Herald reports the indictments against William Eusebio were brought by a grand jury and allege the crimes occurred on Feb. 10 at the Rockingham County House of Corrections.

    A Newmarket man accused of beating his 3-month-old son, causing skull fractures and several other serious injuries, was indicted on 21 assault charges by a Rockingham County Superior Court grand jury this month. Jose Orta-Santana, 25, of 275 Great Bay Woods, was indicted on 12 counts of first-degree assault, eight counts of first-degree assault-domestic violence, and one count of second-degree assault-domestic violence stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred on Feb. 28. According to court documents, on the evening of March 3, Newmarket police were notified of a possible child abuse victim being treated at Boston Children's Hospital.
