    On Tuesday, February 03, 2015, at approximately 7:54 AM Kentucky State Police Post 11, London was notified of a residential structure fire with a fatality on Low Gap Road in Rockcastle County. KSP Arson Investigator Detective Brian Lewis along with Detective John Barnett arrived on the scene and discovered the victim Morris Cromer, 55, of Mount Vernon deceased in the bedroom area of the residence.

    Rockcastle County, Kentucky, to Erskin and Ettia Bowman Brockman, he lived in this area most of his life. Russell was a truck operator for Richmond Sanitation Department for nearly 41 years. He loved working on his cars, fishing, and going to swap meets. In his younger years he enjoyed racing cars. Russell enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Survivors include his wife, Patty Lewis Brockman to whom he was married on June 7, 1986; children, Martina (David) Phenis of Lynn, Indiana, Marietta (Chris) Bryant of Richmond, Heather (Matt) Martin of Winchester, Indiana, Jennifer (Chris) Hollingsworth of Richmond, and Scottie Scales of Lynn, Indiana; grandchildren, Makenzie and Caden Phenis, Chloe and Austin Bryant, Benjamin, Jazmyn, Jordyn, and Kirsten Martin, and Libby Hollingsworth; mother; brothers, Clayton and Carlos Brockman, of Richmond and Randall Brockman of Fountain City, Indiana; sister, Cleo Voght of Syracuse, Indiana; other extended family; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Visitation for Russell N. Brockman will be from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Richmond officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family via the guest book at www.doanmillsfuneralhome.com.

Officer Dennis Jackson with the Kentucky State Police-Vehicle Enforcement responded to a two vehicle injury crash located on I-75 near the 63 mile marker in Mount Vernon Kentucky. Upon arrival and through investigation officers found 42 year Jeffrey Shempert from Parrish Alabama north on I-75 operating a 2015 Freightliner when he struck the rear-end of a 1996 Freightliner being operated by 51 year old Hussein O. Dadd from Arlington Texas.
