    December's unemployment numbers are out and the region is up from November, but still slightly higher than the state. The numbers, released by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, shows that Pickett County has the highest rate - at 12.5 percent, up from 11.9 percent from November and around the same number as reported in December of 2013.
