Jennifer Bennett, who was 23 at the time, was initially charged with off-grid first-degree murder after the September 2012 incident in which she drove a car over a sidewalk and into a yard where it struck Martin Dunn, who died from his injuries.

    A $10 million grant will allow the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to provide home visits to more than 800 low-income families with young children. Aimee Rosenow, spokeswoman for KDHE, said the home visits program currently targets at-risk pregnant women and families with children up to age 5 in counties that have higher rates of low birth weight, births to teens, infant mortality and children living in poverty than the rest of the state's urban and rural areas.
