    A large piece of a cliff above Lake Whitney that was already marred by a giant crack in the limestone has crashed into the lake below during a severe storm. The old wooden bridge on Hill County Road 3373 was closed and likely would be for two- to three months, Hill County Precinct 3 road foreman Scotty Hawkins said Sunday night flood waters proved to be too much for the bridge structure and rising water moved the structure off its foundation.

Law enforcement was patrolling the area north of Whitney on Farm Road 2604 when deputies contacted several subjects behaving suspiciously. Authorities questioned the occupants of a workshop, and observed a glass pipe, commonly used for smoking narcotics, at the scene.
