Sheriff Michael Cox said that 30-year-old John Christopher Terry was reported missing Friday evening, October 17. He was last seen Friday morning at a business in south Hillsboro. Reports indicated that Terry's sport-utility vehicle was found abandoned Saturday evening, October 18, on HCR 2346 west of Abbott.

    The Hillsboro Ag Boosters' 'Extravaganza' will be held in the Hill County Fair Exhibits Building Saturday, November 8. The event is the largest fund raiser the Ag Boosters host annually to raise money for Hillsboro FFA students. Registration will be at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and the drawing at 6:30 p.m. Drawings for several prizes, including an electric guitar signed by Ted Nugent, will be held during the event.

    Hill County Sheriff Michael Cox said at a press conference Thurs-day, October 16, that an analysis of duct tape and carpet fibers and an exhaustive investigation by law enforcement personnel from his office and the Hillsboro Police Department helped lead to three arrest warrants being issued for two suspects in connection with the unsolved homicide of Kasie Clary in May of 2013. 'These efforts collectively were the basis for issuing warrants for the arrest of 44-year-old Vincent Robinson of Hillsboro for murder and for tampering with evidence,' Sheriff Cox said.

Quarterly checks written for departments from Aquilla, Malone, Mertens and Penelope were withheld by the district until they properly file for non-profit 501c3 or 501c4 status with the Internal Revenue Service .     One woman has been arrested and her son's arrest was pending in connection with the murder of a Hillsboro woman whose body was found in May 2013 near Granbury. Dorothy Rowe was held Wednesday in the Hill County Jail awaiting formal arraignment and bond, facing a charge of tampering with evidence, in connection with the death of Kasie Clary, 23. Her son, Vincent Robinson, will be arrested on a murder warrant as soon as he is released from Vernon State Hospital where he is being treated.

    A line of thunderstorms moved through Hill County and north Texas Thursday afternoon, October 2, downing power lines and trees, which resulted in scattered reports of power outages in the county and scattering debris across roadways. The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Hill, along with Bosque and McLennan counties, at 5:02 p.m. In the City of Hillsboro, power lines were reported down in the 500 block of Cunningham Street at 6:35 p.m. and power being lost.
