    A group of Upper Arlington residents supporting a proposed 25-percent local income-tax increase raised more than $80,000 for their effort, according to pre-election campaign finance reports released Thursday, Oct. 23. Although candidates and political-action committees may continue to raise money to support their campaigns through the Nov. 4 election, the deadline for filing pre-election campaign reports with the Franklin County Board of Elections was 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23. According to those reports, pro-levy group Citizens for UA's Future raised $80,963.10 between July 26 and Oct. 14 in an effort to persuade voters to increase the city's income-tax rate from 2 percent to 2.5 percent.

Jacob T. Ferrero, 22, made his initial appearance in Municipal Court on charges of murder and aggravated arson in the death of Samantha Greenlee, 22, who had been missing since Oct. 8. Detectives said in arrest documents that he killed her that day at 5169 Brambury Circle.
