    At its most recent meeting on Monday, Council approved a resolution supporting state efforts to find ways to maintain state roads and bridges without transferring the roads and bridges to local governments and opposing actions taken bu the General Assembly, which, through lack of state funding, raise taxes for Fairfield County residents. "This is where the state is suggesting to turn over some of the state roads back to the county for maintenance and repair," said Fairfield County Council Chair Carolyn Robinson.
