    The incident was reported about 4:50 p.m., when a state trooper was notified that a single-engine Piper Super Cub airplane made a crash landing in a wooded area in the 6200 block of Brookneal Highway, according to a news release from Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller. The pilot, Jonathan K. Bass, 22, of Chesapeake, and the passgener, Bruce Barnhart, 52, a flight instructor from Gladys, were able to get out of the plane and walk to a nearby home, Geller said.
