Oklahoma House candidate seeks recount in contest decided by 8 votes
A Clinton farmer/rancher who lost a legislative race by eight votes said today he is seeking a recount. Lyle Miller lost Tuesday's Republican runoff for the House District 47 race to Harold Wright. Wright, a Weatherford radio broadcaster, won 902 votes, or 50.2 percent, according to unofficial returns from the state Election Board. Miller received 894 votes, or 49.8 percent. "Our intentions at this point are to file for a recount," Miller said. He plans to file papers today at the state Election Board at the state Capitol.
