    A former Albany County legislator is accused of possessing forged checks with the intent to defraud, according to the Albany County District Attorney's office. Brian Scavo, 61, of Albany, was arraigned on a sealed indictment consisting of two felony counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, and two felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree, in Albany County Supreme Court on March 2. The indictment, which was unsealed in court, alleges that on April 10, 2014, at a Kinderhook Bank on Delaware Avenue in the Town of Bethlehem, Scavo did allegedly possess two forged checks with the intent to defraud the bank in the amounts of $2,500 and $2,950.
