    Police have charged a Mount Pleasant Township man for leading them on a high-speed chase through Adams County in July. Lance Lester Hawkes, 40, faces felony charges of fleeing or eluding police, as well as misdemeanor charges of tampering with or fabricating evidence and reckless endangerment, according to court documents filed with Magisterial District Justice Matthew Harvey's office Dec. 10. The chase, which spanned several municipalities, started around 11:20 p.m. July 10 when Cumberland Township police attempted to pull over three motorcycles that made a U-turn ahead of a DUI task force check point in the 1100 block of Baltimore Pike.
